This project began with a direct enquiry for landscape design and installation, shortly after a new carport had been constructed. When we met on site, it was clear the owners wanted a garden that felt connected to the surrounding shrubland, drawing in birds and butterflies through an Australian native planting palette. The block sloped toward the street, so the design needed to address level changes with a retaining wall and stair set while still creating a welcoming, seamless path from the carport to the front door.

With restricted access, soil and concrete pumps were essential to deliver the works efficiently. We introduced exposed aggregate stairs, a block and render retaining wall and a stainless wire trellis system to soften vertical surfaces over time. A blend of native and tropical planting sits alongside Zoysia Australis turf for the dog, with cascade pebble and tea tree mulch tying everything together. As the Mandevilla climbs the trellis and Banksias attract birds to the front garden, the space has settled into a low maintenance, water wise landscape that feels alive, personal and easy to care for year after year.
